About Us

Edisan trust

Our work is vital as it empowers marginalized communities in Avinashi Taluk, fostering leadership, social justice, and sustainable change through a bottom-up approach for long-term impact.

Founded in 2011, our trust is dedicated to promoting equality and social justice by supporting marginalized communities. The founder of Edisan Trust is deeply committed to driving social change by encouraging critical thinking and empowering people from these communities to take ownership of their transformation. We firmly believe that the most sustainable way to achieve social change is through a "bottom-up" approach. This method focuses on developing the leadership skills of the most marginalized individuals, ensuring they play an active role in shaping their own futures. Events

Home Garden Awarness

As part of its ongoing community development efforts, Edisan Trust promoted the practice of home gardening to enhance household food security. The activity highlighted the benefits of home gardens—such as access to diverse, nutritious foods, savings on food expenses, and income generation through the sale of surplus produce. It also emphasized the role of gardens as a reliable food source during lean seasons. This initiative aimed to encourage families to adopt sustainable practices that improve nutrition and resilience.

Programs

Women Empowerment Program

Since its inception, EDISAN TRUST has primarily conducted its community activities through Self Help Groups (SHGs), which are integral to all our projects. These SHGs receive training to develop good banking habits and understand the significance of small savings. The program also includes education on book-keeping and leadership skills for key members. By empowering women through these initiatives, we enable them to manage finances, make informed decisions, and take on leadership roles in their communities. This approach not only strengthens the financial independence of women but also contributes to their overall empowerment. The trust believes in fostering a culture of savings and financial literacy to uplift marginalized communities. The training helps them develop self-sufficiency, improving their economic status. Through these efforts, women are better equipped to drive sustainable change in their communities.
